The young artist's wins were particularly notable as she triumphed over established Nigerian acts like Asake, Rema, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Tems in the Afrobeats category. Her success at the EMAs follows the viral popularity of her hit single "Water" and signals a bright future for the talented performer.
While Tyla shone brightly, the night's top honoree was undoubtedly Taylor Swift. The pop icon, who led the nominations with seven nods, walked away with four awards: Best Artist, Best Video for her collaboration with Post Malone on "Fortnight," Best Live Act, and Best U.S. Act.
