FOLA’s debut album, Catharsis, is more than a project—it’s a healing experience through Afro-soul. Honest, emotional, and powerful, this is music that truly matters.
Nigerian singer-songwriter FOLA is set to release his deeply personal debut album, Catharsis—a project born from over a year of introspective writing and emotional healing. Sharing his journey on X (formerly Twitter), FOLA revealed the heartfelt inspiration behind the music:
“I wrote these songs to mend what life tried to break, to let go of what I couldn’t hold onto, and most of all, to heal. I feel incredibly fortunate to finally share this music with you. My hope is that these songs bring you the same sense of healing and release that they gave me. ‘Catharsis’ is the album you didn’t know you needed. I can’t wait for you to hear it. I’ll see you very soon.” [#catharsisOTW]
Following the success of his chart-topping EP What A Feeling, FOLA invites listeners on a soul-stirring musical journey that blends rich Afro-soul rhythms with vulnerable, introspective songwriting.
Catharsis offers a fresh and authentic voice in Nigeria’s thriving music scene—one that embraces the complexities of life’s struggles and triumphs with honesty and grace.
As anticipation builds, Catharsis promises to resonate deeply across Africa and the diaspora, appealing to audiences who seek music with emotional truth and soulful storytelling. This is more than an album—it’s an invitation to feel, reflect, and heal together.
My debut album “catharsis” is almost here. I’ve been writing these songs for over a year now, long before most of you even knew FOLA. I wrote these songs to mend what life tried to break, to let go of what I couldn’t hold onto, and most of all, to heal.
