In a monumental leap forward for infrastructure development in East Africa, Tanzania has completed construction of the region's longest bridge, spanning an impressive 3.2 kilometers across the Gulf of Mwanza in Lake Victoria. The Kigongo–Busisi Bridge, was officially named the John Pombe Magufuli Bridge after Tanzania's late president.
This engineering marvel, valued at approximately $300 million, is not just a bridge—it's a lifeline connecting the Mwanza and Geita regions, dramatically reducing travel time from 35 minutes by ferry to a mere 4 minutes by car.
